Foster care is much more than just a temporary home, foster families provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home for children or young people who are temporarily unable to live with their birth parents.
The Goal Of Fostering
The primary goal of fostering is often supporting the child until it is safe for them to return home, however it can also be a bridge to a permanent solution such as adoption. Whether a child stays for a few days or several years, fostering is about providing emotional support and a consistent environment to help a child heal and thrive during a period of significant transition.
Who Can Be Fostered?
Children who need foster homes range from babies to teenagers. Some may come into care alone; others may need to stay with their brothers and sisters. Many children in care have experienced trauma or instability. They may feel confused, anxious or unsure about trusting adults. What they need most is patience consistency, kindness and reassurance.
Every child is an individual, which is why we offer different types of fostering.
